SERENGETI CONSERVATION SAFARI

THE GREAT MIGRATION MEETS CONSERVATION

Explore the wildlife rich plains of Ndutu, witness the Great Migration in the Northern Serengeti and spend a day with KopeLion learning how communities and conservationists are working together to protect lions.

Join Bobby-Jo Safaris as we explore two of Tanzania’s most rewarding wildlife regions. Spend time in the Southern Serengeti around Ndutu, witness the drama of the Mara River crossings in the Northern Serengeti and enjoy a day alongside the KopeLion team, learning firsthand how communities and conservationists are working together to protect lions and promote coexistence.

This safari is designed for travellers who would like to combine exceptional wildlife viewing and photography with a meaningful conservation experience, gaining a deeper understanding of the challenges and successes of lion conservation in the Ngorongoro landscape.

The Mara River is one of the most dynamic ecosystems in East Africa. During the migration season, thousands of wildebeest and zebras gather along its banks, waiting for the right moment to cross into Kenya while crocodiles and other predators remain close by.

Every day on safari brings something different, from dramatic crossings to quieter moments spent observing wildlife behaving naturally in its environment.

To complement our time in the Northern Serengeti, we’ll also explore the Ndutu region of the Southern Serengeti. This wildlife rich area offers a very different experience, with fewer vehicles, beautiful landscapes and excellent opportunities to observe lions, cheetahs, leopards and other predators in a more relaxed setting.

A highlight of the safari is our full conservation day with KopeLion. Guests will spend time with the dedicated team, track lions alongside field monitors and Ilchokuti (Lion Guardians), and learn how communities and conservationists are working together to reduce human wildlife conflict.

A portion of every booking directly supports KopeLion’s ongoing work, helping to safeguard Tanzania’s lions and support coexistence between people and wildlife.
