The Pantanal
THE WORLD’S LARGEST TROPICAL WETLAND
The Pantanal is the world’s largest tropical wetland and one of South America’s most rewarding wildlife destinations. Its winding rivers, seasonally flooded grasslands and forests support an extraordinary abundance of wildlife, offering excellent opportunities to observe and photograph Jaguars, Giant Otters, Giant Anteaters and many colourful bird species.
The Pantanal supports one of the highest densities of Jaguars found anywhere in the world, making it one of the best places on Earth to observe and photograph these elusive cats. Travelling aboard our private photography boat allows us to explore winding waterways at a relaxed pace while searching for Jaguars and other wildlife.

While Jaguars are undoubtedly the stars of the Pantanal, the region is also home to an extraordinary diversity of wildlife. Giant Otters, capybaras, caiman, monkeys, Giant Anteaters and colourful birdlife can all be encountered during our expedition, providing wonderful opportunities to observe and photograph animals behaving naturally in their environment.
Life in the Pantanal revolves around the rivers. Early mornings and late afternoons are spent exploring quiet waterways, watching wildlife emerge from the forest and enjoying the changing light over the wetlands. Every outing is different, and unexpected encounters are all part of the experience.

Spending seven nights aboard our floating hotel allows us to truly immerse ourselves in this remarkable ecosystem. Between excursions, guests can relax on deck, review photographs or simply enjoy the sights and sounds of the Pantanal while waiting for the next adventure to unfold.

“The Pantanal has been a bucket list location for me for many years. So, when the opportunity arose to travel with Bobby-Jo, I jumped at the opportunity. And I’m glad I did. It was truly an amazing experience with an incredible diversity of birds, amazing jaguar sightings and a great bunch of people. As with Bobby-Jo’s other safaris the focus was on making the most of photographic opportunities and brilliant tuition. Without a doubt it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life; everyone should visit the Pantanal at least once!”

“The Pantanal is one of the most diverse wilderness areas on the planet! The amount of wildlife life that calls this area home is outstanding. We encountered sixteen individual jaguar on our last safari. We also observed and photographed giant river otters, tapir, ocelot, macaw and hundreds of other species of bird. It is a mecca for wildlife and the low profile of the boats we use are perfect for capturing low angles.”
