This annual spectacle sees over a million wildebeest and zebras crossing the Mara River in search of greener pastures, a feat known as the wildebeest crossing.
The Northern Serengeti is a vast grassland that is home to a diverse array of wildlife, with the wildebeest being one of the most iconic residents.
Every year, these ungulates undertake an annual migration of around two million, braving dangers posed by predators such as lions and crocodiles. Witnessing this breathtaking spectacle draws visitors from all over the world, and serves as a reminder of the awe-inspiring power and beauty of nature.
Bobby-Jo Safaris’ guides will take you to the best viewing points to witness this spectacular event and capture incredible photographs. You’ll also have the opportunity to see predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs on the hunt, waiting to strike as the herds cross the river.
As the sun sets on another unforgettable safari day, retreat to your comfortable tented accommodation in the heart of the Northern Serengeti to enjoy a dinner under the stars.
On the final day of the safari, we will visit the amazing Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s greatest natural wonders.
Descend into the massive crater, which is home to a staggering number of wildlife, including the “Big Five” – lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos, and buffalos.
