There are few experiences as breathtaking as witnessing the great wildebeest migration during the calving season in the Southern Serengeti and Ndutu regions.

From around late January to March, millions of wildebeest and zebras embark on their annual journey to find fresh grasslands and water sources, and give birth to their young.

The result is a stunning display of wildlife, with herds stretching as far as the eye can see, and newborn animals taking their first wobbly steps on the vast grassy plains.

But the jewel in the crown of this awesome natural wonder is the presence of the Ngorongoro Crater. This is a massive volcanic caldera or crater that is home to some of the densest wildlife populations in Africa.

Here, you can spot elephants, lions, hippos, and rhinos up close, all against the backdrop of the crater’s breathtaking scenery.
